The clear water and white sand make Balandra the favorite beach destination of Baja California Sur.
The wetlands surrounding Balandra bays sustain the beautiful array of mangroves that serve as home for a great number of marine and land birds.
Balandra was declared a Natural Protected Area in 2001.
Balandra also has the international distinction RAMSAR wetlands since 2008.
It is also considered a world heritage site since 2005.
Balandra is considerd a World Heritage site since 2005.
A few recommendations for your visit to the Natural Protected Area are:
- Use biodegradable sunblock
- It is not allowed to extract any plants or animals from the area
- Use only the designated areas for trekking and camping
- It is not allowed to walk on the dune
